What You'll Do
- Teach and lead fun, hands-on tech classes for elementary and middle school students.
- Lead after-school programs plus seasonal and school-break camps, including Career Tech Camps and Intro to Computer Science & Engineering.
- Help plan and run classes, camps, workshops, orientations, and special events.
- Assist with lesson plans, homework help, academic enrichment, and physical activity.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive environment; support good behavior and keep the program site clean and organized.
- Take on a leadership role at your assigned site, including scheduling, attendance records, and customer service when full-time staff are unavailable.
- Build great relationships with students, families, volunteers, and school staff.
- Help with program marketing materials.
Who We're Looking For
- Two years of college coursework in a STEAM field (Computer Science, Game Development, Engineering, or related), plus experience working with children – or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or leading youth activities.
- Someone who can inspire and motivate young learners, with strong communication and customer service skills.
- Familiarity with facility operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift equipment/supplies up to 50 lbs. and perform bending, lifting, and other physical tasks.
Requirements
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required; 48 college semester or 60 college quarter units, or passing an Instructional Aide Test (in some districts).
- Proficiency in standard English appropriate for a school setting.
- Successful completion of background checks, including Live Scan (fingerprinting), a clear TB test, and Advanced Math and English skills (K–8) testing.
