Associate Service Coordinator

Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) is a non-profit agency under contract to the State of California and for 50 years has provided the coordination of services to individuals with developmental disabilities. ACRC employs approximately 900+ individuals working out of eight offices in a ten-county area. ACRC is one of 21 Regional Centers in California.

 

THE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASK SUMMARY 

ACRC is seeking an Associate Service Coordinator to assist in providing case management and advocacy for persons with developmental disabilities. The position is designed for students who are enrolled in university settings. Associate Service Coordinators will support ACRC Service Coordinators (SCs) who work with ACRC clients to include children, adults, and their families. Associate work hour requirements are 19 hours per week.  Typical duties may include assisting clients and their families in acquiring and maintaining assessed services and supports such as: transportation, vocational training, day programming, education, Early Start therapies, medical care, and independent living training; serving as an advocate for our clients, collaborating with community agencies; describing ACRC basic services; participating in the development of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP), Individual Program Plans (IPP), and quarterly documentation for clients; assist with completion of forms, documentation, and reports in accordance with regulations and ACRC policies and procedures; confers with internal and external professional staff, and assist co-workers with special project. 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Extensive sitting at workstation, in meetings, and in vehicle (50%+ of time); Frequent standing and walking; Adequate manual dexterity and coordination to operate standard office equipment, such as computer, keyboard and mouse, copier, scanner, etc.; Hearing and vision corrected to normal range for operation of standard office equipment, transcription of documents and administration of electronic records; Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and stretching; Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. while moving paperwork, supplies, and other office materials; Ability to independently visit off site locations (i.e. client, group, residential and day programs, etc.); Occasional travel outside of catchment area of distances of 100+miles.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be Junior or Seniors in their bachelor’s program and with at least 12 semester units in social work, psychology, education, clinical services or related field. Applicants must demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills; have strong time management and organization skills; and possess a valid California driver license and automobile liability insurance. 

 

COMPENSATION

 This position will be designated as a part-time employee reimbursed at Step 1 of the Service Coordinator, I Grade at $21.97/hr.

 

Additional benefits will be provided on a pro-rated basis contingent on actual working hours.
