SAT Math Instructor
SAT Math Instructor – Small Group Teaching | $25/hr | In-Person, Alpharetta, GA
About Us
Code Hero Academy - OYA SAT is a local SAT prep program in Alpharetta that believes every student learns best when they feel seen, heard, and supported. We teach in small groups so each student gets real individual attention, and we pair great teaching with a practice and progress-tracking platform that helps students improve steadily.
The Role
We're looking for a math instructor who connects with students as much as with the material. You'll lead small-group SAT Math sessions, keep every student engaged, and use our platform to shape each lesson around what your students need most.
What You'll Do
- Teach SAT Math concepts and strategies to small groups of high school students.
- Keep every student involved, making sure each one feels their questions and challenges are understood and addressed.
- Notice when a student is stuck, even when they don't say so, and adjust your approach in the moment.
- Use our online platform to assign practice, build well-balanced quizzes and practice exams, and track each student's progress.
- Review progress data to plan upcoming sessions and choose the material that will help the group most.
- Adapt lesson plans as students grow, pushing those who are ready and supporting those who need more time.
What We're Looking For
- Strong command of high school math (algebra, geometry, data analysis, and advanced math topics on the SAT).
- A genuine knack for connecting with teens and making them feel valued and confident.
- Patience, attentiveness, and the ability to read a room.
- Comfort with technology and willingness to learn a new teaching platform.
- An organized planner who can also think on their feet.
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience is a plus, but not required.
Great Fit For
College students and recent grads in math, engineering, or education; current or retired teachers; and anyone who loves helping students reach their goals.
