Summary of Position
The Operations Manager Intern supports the Operations team by assisting with project execution, resource coordination, scheduling, safety initiatives, and operational performance activities. This internship provides hands-on exposure to field operations and helps students develop an understanding of how crews, equipment, materials, and resources are managed to safely and efficiently deliver projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with coordinating labor, equipment, and material resources across projects.
- Support scheduling activities and help monitor project progress and field productivity.
- Participate in operational meetings, site visits, and field inspections.
- Work closely with Operations, Project Management, Safety, and Estimating teams to support project execution.
- Assist with tracking operational metrics, project status updates, and performance reports.
- Support safety initiatives, training activities, and operational compliance efforts.
- Help identify opportunities for process improvements related to efficiency, productivity, and project execution.
- Observe and learn leadership responsibilities related to managing field personnel and operational resources.
- Assist with special projects and other operational initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous construction, industrial, or operations-related experience.
- Interest in Operations Management, Field Leadership, Construction Management, or Industrial Services.
- Familiarity with scheduling, project tracking, or operational reporting tools.
