Performing Arts Instructor
Philadelphia Parks and Recreation is hiring a part-time Performing Arts Instructor, starting January 2027, to bring performing arts to kids in after-school programs at recreation centers across Philadelphia. You will travel to a different recreation center each day of the week, lead sessions in acting, movement, voice, and music with children ages 6 to 12, and help them build real skills: using their voice, moving with confidence, working as an ensemble, and performing in front of people. You plan the sessions, run them on your own, keep attendance, and work with each center's after-school staff so the program fits their day. This is a good fit for a student or recent grad in theater, dance, music, or education who wants hands-on teaching experience and is comfortable leading a room of kids. The role runs January through May 2027 with the option to continue, requires reliable transportation between centers, and requires PA child abuse, criminal, and FBI clearances before the start date.
