Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:30–5:30 p.m.; assigned days may vary
Compensation: $23 per hour

Position Overview
KAFFA is seeking an energetic, dependable and engaging After-School K–5 Teacher to lead structured enrichment activities and create a safe, positive environment for elementary-school students. This is an excellent opportunity for education, physical education, recreation, psychology, social work and youth-development students seeking meaningful school-based experience.
Karate practitioners with at least five years of training or teaching experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Lead age-appropriate lessons and enrichment activities for students in grades K–5.
Provide homework assistance and academic support.
Facilitate karate, fitness, recreation, indoor games or other structured activities based on experience.
Maintain an orderly, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
Supervise students during activities, classroom transitions and dismissal.
Track attendance and follow all student-safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with counselors, school employees and KAFFA leadership.
Communicate behavioral, safety or program concerns promptly.
Follow KAFFA and school policies at all times.
Qualifications
Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, mentoring or supervising children is preferred.
College students and recent graduates in education, physical education, recreation, psychology, social work or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Karate practitioners with five or more years of experience are welcome.
Strong communication, leadership and classroom-management skills.
Dependable, punctual and able to work consistently during scheduled program days.
Must be comfortable working with children from diverse backgrounds and ability levels.
NYC Department of Education fingerprint clearance is required for this role.
Candidates who are not currently DOE fingerprinted must be willing and able to complete the process before beginning work.
CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
