Director of Enrichment Programs
Position Overview:
The Director of Enrichment Programs is a Full Time Position including planning for, implementation of, oversight and management of on campus and off campus programs. They report to the Leadership Team (Head of School, Grades and Early Childhood Faculty Chairs), and work collaboratively with the Grades and Early Childhood Faculty, as well as with the Director of Admissions and Director of Business Operations.
This position is responsible for overseeing all programs that fall outside of the typical school day, including:
- Extended Care, 3-6pm M-F during the school year
- Full Day Care, 8am-4pm during Parent-Teacher Conferences and in-service days.
- Seasonal Clubs, 3-5pm up to M-Th (depending on the club and the season)
- Summer Camp, 3-6 weeks during June/July
Qualifications:
- Degree in a related field (early ed., child development, elementary ed., special ed., or human services) required
- Knowledge of Waldorf Education
- Strong interpersonal skills in person, on the telephone, and in written correspondence
- Highly organized and able to multitask effectively, including maintaining clerical work
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a range of people in variety of settings
- Ability to effectively manage staff
- Ability to meet the developmental needs of multi-age child programs
- Proficient technology skills (not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel and online scheduling
- calendars such as Doodle/Sign-Up Genius)
- Ability to read, interpret, and implement DHS requirements to support the yearly DHS audit
- Applicant must pass state, federal and local clearances, NSOR and child abuse clearance prior to employment
Responsibilities:
- The Director is responsible for the general management of the Extended Care, Seasonal Clubs, and Summer Camp programs, including the following minimum duties:
- Administers budget, personnel, maintenance, meal planning and preparation and transportation.
- Administers the facility’s program objectives and activities.
- Designates a staff person who is responsible for DHS compliance in the Director’s absence.
- Coordinates and plans daily activities with the group supervisors or with the assistant group supervisors in school-age program.
- Overall program planning including budgeting, promotion of programs (with support from marketing team), coordinating chaperones, registration and finances, transportation.
- Hires staff with approval from the Leadership Team and Director of Business Operations.
- Trains and manages staff.
- Yearly written evaluation of staff persons on a regular basis in keeping with WSP’s Employee Handbook.
- Works in collaboration with Director of Business Operations and Enrollment, as well as with Faculty.
- Works in collaboration with Full Faculty to brainstorm, plan, and assure programs are pedagogically aligned.
- Facilitates and implements the extended care program, after school clubs, and summer camp.
