About Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy
Digital Dreamers STEAM Academy is a community-driven after-school enrichment program serving elementary schools across the Bay Area. We deliver hands-on, engaging STEAM experiences designed to spark curiosity, foster creativity, and build future-ready skills in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic After-School STEAM Instructor to lead hands-on enrichment classes for elementary students in San Francisco. You will guide small groups through experiments, builds, and creative projects that make science and engineering feel like play.
This role is ideal for education students, teacher aides, camp counselors, and anyone who has run programs for young children and wants regular weekday hours.
Curriculum and lesson materials are provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead small-group STEAM classes for TK-5th grade students after the school day
- Facilitate hands-on, age-appropriate activities including science experiments, engineering challenges, art and design projects, and nature exploration
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Maintain student engagement and manage classroom behavior effectively
- Prepare materials before class and handle clean-up and storage after each session
- Track attendance and communicate updates to the Program Coordinator
- Communicate professionally with school staff, parents, and program coordinators
- Follow all school-site safety procedures and program expectations
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working directly with elementary-age children through teaching, tutoring, camps, after-school programs, STEM programs, science museums, enrichment programs, mentoring, coaching, or youth development
- Strong communication and classroom-management skills
- Comfortable leading and supervising groups of students
- Able to follow provided curriculum while adapting instruction to student needs
- Applicant must be residing in San Francisco or within 20 miles of San Francisco
- Can reliably commit to the Fall 2026 after-school program schedule
- Must pass a background check and complete fingerprinting/live scan
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in education, child development, early childhood studies, or a related field
- Experience running after-school or enrichment programming
- Energetic, patient, organized, and dependable
