The Senior Business Analyst is the Food & Beverage Division's subject matter expert for data, technology and performance analysis. The role turns enterprise data into practical operating insight, protects data integrity, and ensures TPG's F&B technology stack is deployed and used consistently across applicable owned and managed properties.
Based at TPG Headquarters in Cranston, Rhode Island, this position is expected to discover trends operators may not see, translate complex information into clear recommendations, and teach property and regional leaders how to use data to improve efficiency, guest experience and financial performance.
Data, Technology & Subject Matter Expertise – Become the enterprise resource for F&B data, systems and analysis. Within six months, develop expert-level proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Toast POS, OpenTable, Craftable and other approved tools, and assume administrator or business-owner responsibilities where applicable.
• Technology Rollout & Adoption – Lead the rollout and adoption of the F&B technology stack across applicable operations. Establish standards, training and follow-up so systems are used consistently and generate actionable information.
• Data Integrity & Governance – Own data accuracy across F&B reporting. Develop controls, processes and naming conventions for the data warehouse and connected systems so enterprise reporting is complete, consistent and reliable.
• Enterprise Reporting & KPIs – Create and maintain a company-wide reporting package that gives property, regional and executive leadership a clear view of financial performance, guest satisfaction and operating trends. Establish, define and analyze the F&B Division's key performance indicators.
• Operator Education & Decision Support – Teach operators to understand the impact of their decisions using available data and technology. Patiently coach and influence teams to improve efficiency, guest experience and financial results.
• Performance Analysis & Recommendations – Provide frequent recommendations to property and regional leadership involving Cost of Goods Sold, labor, table management, digital marketing, guest satisfaction response rates and other operating KPIs.
• Weekly Executive Reporting & Best Practices – Provide the Senior Vice President of Food & Beverage and Corporate Culinary Director with a weekly performance report highlighting strong performers, underperformers, positive trends and best practices that can be replicated across the portfolio.
• Openings, Transitions & Closures – Participate in hotel and restaurant openings, management transitions and closures to ensure systems, data structures, reporting and F&B technology are configured correctly and maintained through transition.
• Executive Presentations – Prepare clear, concise executive-level presentations on F&B performance, technology, trends, operating opportunities, business cases and strategic topics.
• Budgeting, Pro Forma & Digital Marketing – Participate in F&B budgeting, pro forma development and digital marketing strategies, using data to test assumptions, identify opportunities and measure results.
• Continuous Improvement – Evaluate new tools, reporting methods and analytical approaches that improve decision-making, reduce manual work, strengthen data accuracy and increase enterprise visibility.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree required in Finance, Business Analytics, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely related analytical discipline.
• Minimum of two years working in a Food & Beverage operation in an hourly or salaried capacity, with sufficient experience to understand the language, priorities and operating realities of F&B teams.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability, including the capacity to identify trends, relationships and operating opportunities that may not be immediately visible to operators.
• Strong aptitude for technology, systems administration, data structure and reporting, with the ability to learn new platforms quickly and become a trusted enterprise resource.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong business-intelligence capability; ability to become expert in Power BI, Toast POS, OpenTable, Craftable and other TPG-designated platforms within six months.
• Ability to work with imperfect or inconsistent source data, identify data-quality issues and develop practical processes that improve accuracy and consistency.
• Strong communication, teaching and influencing skills. Must be patient, approachable and committed to helping operators use data more effectively rather than simply reporting results.
• Ability to translate technical and analytical information into concise operating recommendations and executive-level presentations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple systems, properties, projects and priorities simultaneously.
