MACHINING SUPERVISOR – SECOND SHIFT
Kadir.ai is recruiting a Machining Supervisor for a confidential aerospace and advanced-manufacturing client.

Shift: Second shift, beginning at approximately 2:30 PM
Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Machining Supervisor will lead a second-shift operation producing critical, high-precision aerospace components. This person will supervise and develop a team of machinists and technicians, support the commissioning of a new machine shop, manage production performance, and maintain rigorous safety and quality standards.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on CNC machining knowledge with strong people leadership, production planning, troubleshooting, and continuous-improvement experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise up to 25 machinists and technicians
Assign daily work based on production priorities, skills, equipment availability, and delivery requirements
Provide regular performance coaching and professional-development feedback
Build and maintain production schedules supporting downstream assembly teams
Monitor utilization, cycle time, yield, delivery, quality, and lights-out manufacturing metrics
Maintain shop-floor safety, training, PPE compliance, and procedural discipline
Monitor the condition and availability of CNC machines, tooling, fixtures, and support equipment
Support the commissioning of CNC machines and cleaning equipment in a new shop
Transition parts and programs from prove-out into repeatable production
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, equipment, quality, and process issues
Drive continuous improvement, 5S, tooling-inventory discipline, and production efficiency
Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, programming, and assembly teams
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent
At least four years of manufacturing experience
Demonstrated supervisory, lead, or team-development experience
Strong knowledge of CNC machining and production operations
Experience assigning work and managing production schedules
Strong communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to troubleshoot machining and manufacturing-process issues
Ability to work full-time, onsite, and on second shift in Hawthorne, California
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Five or more years of experience as a CNC machinist
Three or more years of manufacturing leadership experience
Aerospace, defense, automotive, propulsion, or advanced-manufacturing experience
Experience managing teams of machinists and technicians
Experience commissioning equipment or supporting the launch of a new machine shop
Familiarity with high-volume machining, lights-out manufacturing, 5S, and lean practices
Experience tracking utilization, cycle time, yield, quality, and delivery metrics
