The Semester Intern will be involved in developing their portfolio through drafting press releases, working on briefing documents, developing web content, conducting research around current policies, and more. The Semester Intern will work with the Chief of Communications, as well as the legislative affairs and other staff, to support the needs of the office in a myriad of ways.

The Semester Internship Program provides a career exploration opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students and recent graduates. Interns work in OSMRE Headquarters, regional, and field offices and gain professional experience with a federal regulatory agency.

Interns conduct research assignments and participate in group projects to build their resumes in their fields of interest. Assignments include environmental science, community development, communications, data analysis, and more.

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution, vocational school, or be a recent graduate
  • Summer Semester (10 weeks), Spring Semester (15 weeks), Fall Semester (15 weeks)
