Repair Program Analyst

Supply Chain, Vendor Management & AI Automation

AMP Aero Services
Kansas City, Missouri | On-Site | Full-Time

Build a career where aviation, business, data, and AI meet.

AMP Aero is looking for a smart, driven recent graduate who wants significantly more responsibility than a typical entry-level corporate job.

We buy, repair, manage, and sell commercial aircraft engine material to airlines, MROs, lessors, and aviation companies around the world. The parts we manage can be worth thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars, and every decision involving repair cost, vendor selection, turnaround time, and inventory directly affects the business.

You will help run that process.

This is not a role where you spend your first two years watching from the sidelines. You will work directly with repair vendors, negotiate pricing, analyze inventory, make commercial recommendations, solve problems, work with live aviation assets, and help us build better systems for managing the entire repair cycle.

You will also be joining a company actively integrating AI into its operations.

We are not looking for someone who simply knows how to use ChatGPT. We are interested in people who understand, or are eager to deeply understand, how modern AI systems work and how LLMs, APIs, agents, structured data, and automation can be used to redesign real business workflows.

If you find yourself constantly asking, "Why are we doing this manually?", you will probably fit in well here.

What You Will Do

Own the repair cycle

Help manage aircraft engine components from the moment they leave our warehouse through repair, certification, and return to inventory.

You will know where our material is, what is happening to it, what it is costing us, and when we expect it back.

Manage vendors

Work directly with repair shops and suppliers across the aviation industry.

Build relationships, request and review quotations, monitor turnaround times, resolve problems, challenge delays, and help identify new repair sources.

Negotiate

A quoted price is not automatically the final price.

You will learn how to evaluate quotes, challenge costs, negotiate lead times, establish program pricing, and create agreements that make AMP more competitive.

Make commercial decisions

Not every part should be repaired.

You will work with sales, purchasing, and asset management to compare repair cost, market value, historical sales, customer demand, and expected return before deciding where we should invest our capital.

Use data to find problems

Analyze vendor performance, repair costs, turnaround times, inventory, market data, and historical transactions.

Find patterns.

Find bottlenecks.

Find opportunities.

Then do something about them.

Build better systems

We do not want someone who simply learns an existing process and repeats it forever.

You will help develop vendor scorecards, dashboards, automated reporting, repair tracking systems, approval workflows, and new operating processes as the company grows.

AI & Automation at AMP

AI is becoming a core part of how AMP operates.

We are actively exploring how large language models, software agents, APIs, data pipelines, and automation can improve everything from inventory analysis and pricing to reporting, purchasing, repair management, and warehouse operations.

You do not need to be a machine-learning engineer.

You do need to be genuinely interested in understanding the technology.

The strongest candidates may have experimented with things like:

LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar platforms

AI agents and tool-calling workflows

Prompt engineering beyond basic chatbot usage

Structured outputs and extracting information from documents

Connecting AI models with databases, spreadsheets, APIs, or internal systems

Workflow automation tools such as n8n, Make, Zapier, Power Automate, or similar platforms

SQL

Python or JavaScript

Building small applications, scripts, automations, or personal AI projects

Using AI to analyze large amounts of unstructured or structured business data

We care much more about curiosity and what you have built or experimented with than whether AI was part of your formal degree.

If you built something weird in your dorm room because you thought it would save you three hours, we want to hear about it.

Who We Are Looking For

You may be graduating from a program in supply chain, finance, economics, business, analytics, information systems, engineering, computer science, aviation, entrepreneurship, or something completely different.

Your major matters less to us than how you think.

You are probably a good fit if:

You are intensely curious and like understanding how businesses actually work.

You learn technology quickly.

You are analytical and comfortable working with numbers.

You like solving ambiguous problems where the answer is not written in a manual.

You communicate confidently and professionally.

You are comfortable picking up the phone and talking to vendors.

You are competitive and enjoy negotiating.

You notice inefficient processes and immediately start thinking about how to improve them.

You can manage a lot of moving pieces without losing track of details.

You take ownership when something goes wrong instead of waiting for someone else to fix it.

You are comfortable questioning the phrase "that's how we've always done it."

You want responsibility early in your career.

What You Do NOT Need

You do not need previous aviation experience.

You do not need to know aircraft engine components on your first day.

You do not need five years of corporate experience.

You do not need to be an AI engineer.

We can teach aviation.

We can teach our systems.

We can teach the repair process.

It is much harder to teach curiosity, urgency, resourcefulness, judgment, and the desire to continuously get better.

Bonus Points

These are helpful, but none are required:

Internship or work experience in supply chain, purchasing, operations, finance, sales, analytics, or logistics

Excel experience beyond basic spreadsheets

SQL experience

Python or JavaScript experience

Experience working with APIs

AI or automation projects

Experience with ERP systems

Aviation or aerospace experience

Negotiation or sales experience

Experience building dashboards or analyzing large datasets

A project, startup, side business, app, automation, or other example of something you built yourself

What Your First Year Could Look Like

Within your first year, our goal is for you to understand the commercial aircraft engine aftermarket, independently manage a portfolio of repairs and vendors, negotiate real transactions, analyze investment decisions, and build systems that improve how our company operates.

The goal is not to make you great at completing tasks.

The goal is to make you someone capable of owning a part of the business.

Why AMP Aero

Real responsibility

You will work with real assets, real money, real suppliers, and real customers from the beginning.

A steep learning curve

Aviation aftermarket combines supply chain, engineering, finance, sales, logistics, international business, and asset management. You will learn a lot, quickly.

AI-forward environment

We are actively experimenting with new technology and expect our team to help determine how it should be used rather than waiting for someone else to figure it out.

Direct access

We are a growing company with a relatively flat structure. Good ideas do not need to travel through six layers of management before someone tries them.

Visible impact

If you negotiate a better repair rate, shorten a turnaround time, automate a manual process, or make a better inventory decision, you can directly see the financial result.

Career growth

This role can develop in multiple directions including supply chain, asset management, procurement, analytics, operations, sales, technology, and leadership.

We are looking for someone who wants to grow with us rather than simply fill a position.

How to Stand Out

A traditional cover letter is not required.

Instead, along with your resume, tell us briefly about one thing you have built, automated, improved, analyzed, sold, negotiated, or figured out that you are proud of.

It can come from an internship, class, job, student organization, side project, startup, sports team, personal project, or something completely unrelated to aviation.

And if you have built anything using AI, an API, automation software, SQL, Python, or an LLM, we especially want to hear about it.
