Full-time | Salary: $104,006 - $140,161 Annually

 

The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation is recruiting for the position of Parks Manager (official title Regional Park Superintendent III) to manage the Environmental Justice Center and the Esperanza Hills Regional Park!

What You’ll Do:

  • Direct operations across a very large, multi-use regional park, including recreation, maintenance, trails, boating, water safety, natural areas, and visitor facilities.
  • Lead and coordinate park staff, supervisors, and volunteers, including work assignments, scheduling, training, and program support.
  • Oversee a wide range of recreational and educational programs, from camping, fishing, and equestrian activities to nature programming, special events, and live animal exhibits.
  • Manage contracts, concessionaires, permits, public safety services, and environmental monitoring to ensure quality service and compliance with County requirements.
  • Support long-range park planning by evaluating facility needs, future development opportunities, land use considerations, budgets, and operational priorities.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Public Administration, Business Management, Environmental Studies, Recreation Administration, Park Administration, Park Management, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience supervising staff and managing an environmental justice center, museum, or other similar facility with educational, interactive, environmental, cultural, or recreational activities and programs.

 

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience leading environmental, conservation, climate resilience, educational, or community-serving programs and facilities, including work that expands access to parks and natural spaces. Strong background in community engagement, partnership development, multidisciplinary team supervision, and translating community priorities into effective programs, services, operations, or facility plans.
