Youth Development Professional

  1. POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates programs within program areas such as Education, Social Health and Wellness, Arts & Crafts, Preventions, Technology and Physical Education. 

 

 

  1. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Leadership - Establish programs in conjunction with the Unit Director and Asst. Unit Director, implementing activities and services that prepare youth for success by maintaining a positive and supportive club environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes. 
  • Mentor – Lead by example by providing consistent mentoring opportunities. Set the appropriate example for members and volunteers serving as the primary example of exemplary role modeling and personal performance.  
  • Process & Procedures - Ensure administrative and operational tasks are done including all paperwork, time sheets, checking emails daily, being on time and ready to work at time scheduled 
  • Front Desk Duties - Develop and maintain relations with members and parents. Checking in/out members, answering phones
  • Facility - Ensure a healthy and safe environment is maintained at all times, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained. Make sure the facility is clean and safe at all times. 
  • Teamwork – working collaboratively with leaders and staff to develop and implement programming 
  • Decision Making - Exercise sound judgment and authority in dealing with behavioral problems relating to members or staff, utilize progressive disciplinary procedures.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

 

  1. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS & REPORTING:

 

Collaborates with all employees including corporate partners.  Reports directly to Unit Director

 

  1. REQUIREMENTS, COMPTENCIES & QUALIFICTIONS: 

 

  • Experience working with youth
  • Knowledge of youth development
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a clean safe environment
  • Demonstrated history of dependable work ethic and punctuality is required to consistently meet the needs of member service requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Participate in special programs or events
  • Must be able to pass a background check, DOHS provider check, and fingerprinting. 

 

  1. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Require the mobility to stand, stoop, reach, bend and lift to 40 Lbs.
  • May be required to use a personal vehicle in the course of employment.
  • May be required to work some evenings and weekends.
