We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic AP Chemistry Tutor to join our team. As a dedicated Chemistry Tutor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional academic tutoring and AP test preparation to high school and college students. Your expertise in Chemistry will empower students to grasp complex concepts and excel in their coursework and AP exams.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions on Chemistry.
  • Tailor study plans to address students' individual academic needs and learning styles.
  • Assist students in preparing for AP exams, covering essential topics and exam-specific strategies.
  • Teach fundamental Chemistry concepts and problem-solving techniques.
  • Utilize interactive teaching methods and resources to enhance students' comprehension.
  • Administer practice tests and mock exams to evaluate students' progress.
  • Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to motivate students in their academic pursuits.
  • Collaborate with parents or guardians, offering progress reports and addressing any concerns.
  • Stay updated with the latest Chemistry curriculum changes and educational trends.

APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS

All applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelors degree – complete and not in progress.
  • Must have earned a grade of A- or higher in the subject(s) to be tutored.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 from university or college.
  • Ability to reliably commute to our office in Northridge
  • Exceptional understanding and enthusiasm for the subject content.
  • Available to work 3 or more afternoons and/or evening shifts for approximately 10-15 hrs/wk.
  • Responsible, dependable, honest, and mature.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Friendly, patient, and sensitive to a diverse range of students.
