Staff Accountant – Tax & Accounting
A well-established boutique CPA firm in Central New Jersey is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our team. This position is well suited for a recent accounting graduate or an early-career accountant who is interested in building a long-term career in public accounting and taxation.
We provide hands-on training and exposure to a wide variety of real client tax and accounting matters. The right candidate should be detail-oriented, responsible, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a deadline-driven professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and assist with individual, corporate (S Corp/C Corp), partnership/LLC, and multi-state tax returns
• Assist with tax research and respond to routine client tax and accounting questions
• Support the preparation and analysis of financial statements
• Perform bookkeeping and payroll processing using accounting software
• Assist with tax-season workflow, client documents, and general office operations
• Develop the ability to handle client assignments independently as experience grows
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English required
• Strong interest in taxation and public accounting
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and instructions accurately
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and gradually take on greater responsibility
Preferred, but Not Required
• Prior internship or work experience in public accounting or tax preparation
• Experience with professional tax or accounting software
• Interest in pursuing the CPA license
