Hearing Itinerant Maternity Leave February through April 2027
QUALIFICATIONS:
A special education teacher will hold either Type 03 Elementary Certificate, Type 09 Secondary Certificate or Type 10 Special Teaching Certificate with Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement or an equivalent Illinois Professional Educator License with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement.
Must have valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle to drive between Member Districts or have other reliable means of transportation to drive between the Member Districts.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
1. Conducts assessment/evaluation of student abilities and needs; attends and
serves as a member of the Individual Education Plan (IEP) Team to determine
eligibility of students for program; assists in the development of IEP
instructional goals/objectives; assists in identifying other related services for
the student; reassesses/evaluates student progress and submits reports in a
timely manner to coincide with IEP review meetings.
2. Establishes instructional/learning environment for students to reinforce
appropriate behavior and to provide academic instruction using a variety of
instructional methods.
3. Maintains cooperative working relationships with parents, member district staff,
SASED staff and community service agencies.
