Event Planning Intern
The Burgess Institute for Entrepreneurship & Innovation is seeking two individuals to join its events team. This role offers hands-on experience supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of high-impact programs and events that bring MSU’s entrepreneurial community to life.
Interns will support all stages of event production, from logistics and run-of-show planning to on-site execution and post-event follow-up. The role also includes collaborating with the marketing and communications team to help promote events and capture stories and moments that extend their impact. If you are excited by planning experiences, working behind the scenes, and seeing ideas come to life in real time, this position is for you.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This is a paid, part-time internship running from November 2026 through May 2027, with the potential to continue through the 2027–28 academic year. The role is intended for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors, with flexibility to hire an outstanding freshman. Interns typically work 10-25 hours per week and must be available during the summer months and throughout the academic year.
The role is hybrid, with time spent remotely, in the Burgess Institute office, and across campus at events. Most work takes place on weekdays, with occasional evenings and weekends, depending on the programming schedule.
