Litigation Associate (Remote, California)
About DeNichilo Law, APC
DeNichilo Law is a boutique firm representing community associations and their boards throughout California. Our work spans community association law, business and transactional matters, civil litigation, real property disputes, contract matters, alternative dispute resolution, and appeals. Clients come to us for timely, high-quality advice and for the same careful attention from the first call to the last.
We are a small team that likes and supports each other, which is why we hire selectively. The person who thrives here cares about the work, treats clients as people to serve rather than files to manage, and leaves ego at the door. If you want to grow, you will find real mentorship. We are not offering a job to pass through. We are offering a career.
The Role
We are looking for a Litigation Associate who wants their own cases, their own clients, and real time in front of a judge. This is a remote position with a client-facing practice. You will draft and argue motions, conduct legal research, take and defend depositions, and represent clients in courts across California. You will also appear at mediations and at hearings before the California Civil Rights Department.
Clients will look to you as their main point of contact, so responsiveness and good judgment matter as much as legal skill. You will be expected to move matters forward without being chased, to keep clients informed before they have to ask, and to speak plainly with board members who are not lawyers.
What You Bring
- A California law license in good standing
- Litigation experience, including drafting motions and conducting legal research
- Deposition experience, both taking and defending
- Courtroom experience, with trial experience strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A self-starter's habits: you manage your own calendar and deadlines and work well without close supervision in a remote setting
- A service mindset and a track record of dependable, professional client relationships
