Job Overview:
We’re looking for a highly analytical, curious, and entrepreneurial Venture Capital Investment Intern to join our Los Angeles team. You’ll play an active role in identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, researching companies and markets, building relationships with founders, conducting financial analysis, and supporting due diligence and investment decisions.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership throughout the investment process, from deal sourcing and company research to financial analysis, investment thesis development, and internal presentations.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and financial skills with genuine curiosity about startups, emerging technologies, and high-growth businesses. Prior venture capital experience is a plus, but not required.
Qualifications:
- 0–1 year of experience through internships, coursework, or projects in finance, economics, business, investment, consulting, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in venture capital, startups, technology, AI, and emerging businesses.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation, or investment analysis is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets; Python, R, or similar tools are a plus.
- Highly curious, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Deal Sourcing: Identify startups and investment opportunities through research, outreach, industry networks, and market activity.
- Company & Market Research: Analyze companies, industries, competitors, business models, and emerging trends.
- Financial Analysis: Review financials and operating metrics, and build financial models and sensitivity analyses.
- Investment Analysis: Evaluate opportunities across market, financial, competitive, product, and business fundamentals.
- Due Diligence: Gather and analyze information, identify key risks and questions, and support the evaluation process.
- Investment Materials: Prepare investment memos, company profiles, financial models, presentations, and research summaries.
- Founder Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with founders, entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Pipeline Management: Track potential investments, interactions, research, and follow-ups.
- Portfolio Support: Assist with research and strategic projects for portfolio companies when needed.
