## Math and Science Tutor

### The role

We're looking for a Math and Science Tutor to work directly with high school students — helping them understand concepts, build real skills, and actually feel good about walking into class. This isn't just homework help. It's about meeting students where they are and helping them get somewhere better.

### What you'll do

- Work one-on-one or in small groups with high school students on math and science subjects - Break down concepts that aren't clicking and find new ways to explain them - Teach students how to plan their time, organize their work, and stay on top of assignments — not just for your sessions, but for school in general - Build a consistent rapport with each student so they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes - Track student progress and adjust your approach based on what's working - Coordinate with students (and sometimes parents) on scheduling and goals

### What you'll need

- Strong understanding of high school math and/or science (algebra through calculus, biology, chemistry, physics) - Genuine comfort working with teenagers — patience matters here - Ability to explain things clearly, more than once, in more than one way - Reliable and punctual; students depend on consistent sessions

### Nice to have

- Experience tutoring or teaching, formally or informally - Background in education, a STEM field, or related coursework - Some familiarity with common high school curricula or standardized tests (SAT, ACT, AP exams)
