Position Overview
We are seeking an ambitious and self-motivated Outside Sales Representative on behalf of a leading architectural design and building components firm servicing the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area.
Our client supplies premium specialty building components for high-profile commercial and residential projects—including Fortune 500 headquarters and internationally recognized sporting venues. This is a direct-hire career opportunity for a candidate who thrives in a field-sales environment, building long-term relationships with contractors, architects, and developers.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development (Hunter Role): Prospect and generate new commercial and residential accounts within the assigned DFW territory.
Account Management: Maintain, service, and grow an existing base of customer accounts.
Architectural Plan Review & Quoting: Analyze architectural drawings and spec sheets to generate accurate project quotes.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Coordinate order details between clients, internal teams, and project contractors to ensure seamless execution.
Territory Coverage: Travel regularly across the DFW metroplex (4–5 days per week in the field) using a personal vehicle.
Compensation & Commission Structure
Base Salary: Up to $90,000 per year (with flexibility depending on qualifications/experience).
Tiered Commission Structure (1.75% – 2.5%):
1.75% guaranteed base commission on sales
2.00% upon reaching 100% of the sales goal
2.50% upon reaching 120% of the sales goal
Sales Goals & Earnings Potential:
Monthly Sales Goal: $75,000
Territory Potential: Realistically generates approximately $1,000,000 annually.
Expected Monthly Commission: Typically ranges from $1,000 to $2,000+ per month.
Qualifications
Experience: At least 2–3 years of outside sales experience (experience in architectural glass, metal products, or construction/building materials is highly preferred).
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills for professional client presentations and negotiations.
Technical Aptitude: Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction plans to generate quotes.
Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Location & Mobility: Based in (or relocating at own expense to) the DFW area with a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for daily field visits.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
