Part Time Swim Coach

Location:  5513 Southwest Parkway, Austin, Texas 78735

Reports To:  Head Coach

Employment Type:  Part Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt}

Pay:  $20-$25/Hour Commensurate with experience and certifications

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are Austin Aquatics and Sports Academy (Austin Swim Club) and we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Swim Coach to lead practices, develop swimmers' technique, and foster a positive, safety-first team culture.  This role is ideal for someone passionate about competitive or developmental swimming who enjoys monitoring athletes at varying skill levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan and lead structured practice sessions for assigned age groups.

Teach and refine stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategy

Monitor safety at all times; enforce pool rules and safety protocols

Track individual and team progress; provide feedback to swimmers and parents

Support meet-day operations, including warm-ups, lineups, and in-meet coaching

Collaborate with the Head Coach and other coaching staff on training plans and team culture

Maintain accurate attendance 

Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and expectations

Uphold all Austin Swim Club and USA Swimming policies

QUALIFICATIONS

Prior Swimming experience (competitive swimmer, coach, or instructor background

Strong understanding of stroke mechanics across all four competitive strokes

Current or willingness to obtain:  CPR/AED and First Aid certification

Background check clearance (required for working with minors)

Willingness to complete Safe Sport certification

Reliable availability for scheduled practice and meet times

Strong communications skills with athletes, parents and staff

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand, walk, and move around pool deck for extended periods

Ability to demonstrate strokes and drills in and out of the water as needed

Comfortable working in a pool-deck environment

COMPENSATION

Pay:  $20 to $25 per hour, commensurate with experience and certifications
