Software Engineer Intern (Fall 2026)
SWE Intern (Fall)
Timing · Virtual/Remote
About Timing
Timing is a Personal Network AI Assistant for job seekers that transforms how you build and maintain relationships. We are on a mission to democratize access to opportunity by partnering individuals with the tools they need to navigate careers, networking, and life with confidence.
Timing keeps contacts current from calendars, email, and LinkedIn, tells users who to reach out to and when, drafts messages in their own voice, and preps them for meetings, always keeping them in control. Think of Timing as a digital executive assistant that manages your network so you never forget to reach out and always have the time to build meaningful connections.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a capable and highly motivated Software Engineering Intern to help build and harden a live, multi-platform product. This role suits someone who already ships real software and wants to go deep on AI agents and production backends.
Timing is no longer a prototype. It is a production system with a web app, a mobile app, a Chrome extension, and an AI agent backend, used by real people and connected to their Google and Microsoft accounts. You will work closely with the founder and engineering team, learn the code quickly, and ship within your first few weeks.
This is a demanding internship with real ownership, and you will finish it with production experience most engineers do not get exposed to as a student. Start date is early/mid October.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development: Build and ship features across the web and mobile platforms.
Backend & Data: Write database migrations and maintain database integrity, implement row-level security policies, design APIs and API routes, and build scheduled jobs that power our product ecosystem.
Agent Tools & Evals: Build and test tools for our agent. Extend the eval suite that measures whether the agent improved.
Integrations: Work on third-party integrations such as Google, Outlook or Stripe and many more.
Quality & Reliability: Write tests, debug across services, troubleshoot issues quickly, and use error monitoring and traces to find root causes.
AI IDEs and Engineering Practices: Use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot) to move faster, and own every line you ship. Work across multiple environments and staging.
Iteration & Growth: Continuously improve your code quality, skills, and knowledge as a developer. Develop greater coding skills and engineering practices through feedback and iteration.
Collaboration: Work with product, design, and engineering teammates to build quickly and explain what you changed and why.
If You Believe You Have This Trait, Apply
Exceptional ability to execute. If you can prove a consistent history of technical execution, we want you.
