About the Role

A career in Toxicology where none of us stand still. 

Toxicology is one of five key functions within Haleon's Clinical Development organization and plays a critical role in supporting the safety of ingredients and products across our portfolio. The team partners closely with Regulatory Affairs, CMC, Consumer Safety, and other R&D functions to generate scientific evidence, support regulatory submissions, and ensure ingredient safety. The role also provides exposure to how toxicology supports product development, innovation, and consumer safety across a global organization.  

As a Toxicology Co-op, you will support projects focused on toxicology information management, scientific documentation, literature review, and regulatory support activities. You will help organize and maintain toxicology data and reports, contribute to the development of ingredient monographs, and assist with projects that improve how safety information is collected, stored, and utilized across the organization.  

What will your individual contribution at Haleon be? 

With guidance from Toxicology Associate Directors and Senior Toxicologists, you will: 

• Review, evaluate, and summarize scientific literature and toxicological data on ingredients and impurities.  
• Assist with updating toxicology ingredient monographs and identifying data gaps. 
• Support the organization, cataloging, and migration of toxicology documents and historical study files.  
• Conduct literature searches and assist with updating reports to ensure information remains current and accurate. 
• Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of scientific and regulatory documentation.  
• Collaborate with colleagues across Toxicology, Regulatory Affairs, CMC, and other R&D functions on documentation and information management projects.  
• Support initiatives that improve the accessibility, organization, and quality of toxicology information and records.  

Essential Qualifications 

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Public Health, or a related scientific discipline. 
• Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028. 
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 
• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Interest in toxicology, consumer safety, regulatory science, or product development. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and the ability to work independently. 

Eligibility and Program Requirements: 

• This internship requires working at the designated location. Candidates requiring relocation are responsible for arranging and funding their own housing, transportation, and relocation needs. 
• Candidate must be able to work full-time (40 hours/ week) Monday-Friday ~8am-5pm for 6 months. 
• Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship in the future. Work authorization documentation will be required during the application process. 
• The position is based in Warren, NJ requiring an in-office presence of 3 days per week 

Expected start date: Jan 2027   

Compensation for this internship is based on academic standing and degree program: 

• Freshman: $20.00/hour 
• Sophomore: $22.50/hour 
• Junior: $24.50/hour 
• Senior: $26.00/hour 
• Master's Student (Non-Engineering): $28.00/hour 
• Master's Student (Engineering): $30.00/hour
