Social Media Content Creator

Part-Time Social Media & Content Creator

The Baker Law Firm | Knoxville, Tennessee

Compensation: $20–$25/hour, depending on experience and portfolio
Hours: Approximately 10–15 hours per week
Location: In-person/hybrid — Downtown Knoxville
Schedule: Flexible around class schedules

About the Position

The Baker Law Firm is seeking a creative, energetic and social-media-savvy college student or recent graduate to help develop and grow the firm's social media presence.

This is not a traditional administrative internship. We are looking for someone who genuinely understands modern social media—particularly Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and short-form video—and wants the opportunity to help build a recognizable local brand. You'll have considerable creative freedom and the opportunity to help develop a professional brand from the ground up.

The ideal candidate is comfortable filming, editing and creating engaging content and has a good instinct for what makes people stop scrolling.

You do not need previous experience working for our firm as you'll leave with a portfolio of real-world social media campaigns, professionally produced videos, analytics and measurable audience growth.

For the right person, this could become a long-term position with the firm. We're not looking for someone to simply make generic law-firm graphics.

We're looking for someone who can help create an engaging personality and brand around the firm through authentic, professional and entertaining content.

What You'll Do

You'll work directly with attorney Lance Baker to:

  • Develop creative social media concepts and a monthly content calendar
  • Film short-form videos and Reels in and around our downtown Knoxville office
  • Edit videos into polished, engaging short-form content
  • Add captions, graphics, hooks, music and other appropriate elements
  • Create educational legal content that is interesting and understandable to the general public
  • Develop content around criminal defense, DUI, civil rights, personal injury and other areas of the firm's practice
  • Create graphics and posts highlighting firm news, case results, community involvement and media appearances
  • Help manage Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
  • Schedule and publish content consistently
  • Monitor engagement and identify which content performs best
  • Bring new ideas to the table

We want someone who will tell us, "Here's what we should film this week."

Who We're Looking For

This position may be particularly well suited for a student studying:

  • Advertising
  • Public Relations
  • Journalism & Media
  • Marketing
  • Digital Media
  • Video Production
  • Communications

However, your major matters less than your creativity and ability to produce excellent content.

Strong candidates will:

  • Understand Instagram Reels and TikTok
  • Know how to shoot quality video on an iPhone and/or camera
  • Be comfortable with video-editing software such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar programs
  • Understand Canva or comparable design software
  • Have excellent writing and communication skills
  • Be dependable and organized
  • Understand current social media trends
  • Be comfortable working directly with an attorney and professional office
  • Have strong judgment regarding what should and should not be posted publicly

How to Apply

Please submit:

  1. Your résumé
  2. A short introduction telling us why you're interested
  3. Links to three examples of social media content or videos you've personally created

These can be professional projects, student projects or content you've created for your own social media.

A large social-media following is not required. Creativity and quality matter more than follower count.
