Business Operations and Intelligence Intern
Position Description
The Business Operations & Intelligence Intern supports the firm's Business Operations & Intelligence team in keeping Star Mountain's systems of record accurate and decision-ready and serves as the feeder class for the firm's Tampa data operations analyst track.
- Execute contained, well-defined data updates in the firm's CRM and ERP systems under analyst supervision: record standardization, deduplication support, and contact-card accuracy work
- Document workflows: capture recurring processes step by step as they are absorbed and industrialized by the team, building the playbook library
- Support recurring report production: data staging, refresh checks, and QC passes on weekly trackers and dashboards
- Support data projects: cleaning campaigns, list builds, and structured research pulls
- Learn the firm's systems, data model, and operating standards as preparation for a full-time analyst path
Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate in data science, business analytics, information systems, computer science, finance, or a related field
- Demonstrated technical aptitude: coursework or projects involving structured data, spreadsheets at an advanced level, and ideally SQL or Python exposure
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in accurate work
- Clear communication, reliability, and comfort documenting processes
- Interest in private markets and in how a firm's functions connect through data
- Positive, solutions-based attitude and strong work ethic; strong culture carrier
