JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Board Certified Behavior Analyst
REPORTS TO: Director

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:
The BCBA Certified Behavior Analyst is an energetic and flexible employee who is eager to work in our therapeutic day school with a high needs population of students ages 5 to 22. This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility of providing behavioral support through creativity, resourcefulness and sound judgment in order for students to be successful in their learning endeavors. Interventions are provided in accordance with State and Federal Special Education Laws and Regulations and the rules and regulations of the Central Massachusetts Collaborative.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participate in the student referral/intake process as needed.

2. Conduct individual FBAs (Functional Behavior Assessments), write reports and develop goals and objectives.

3. Develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for classrooms and individual students and train staff members to implement BIPs for individual students as needed.

4. Consult and collaborate with all TEAM members, including administrators, support service providers, clinicians, and other educational staff regularly.

5. Conduct assessments, write reports and participate in team processes.

6. Write and implement IEP’s and progress reports.

7. Consult with classroom teachers to develop classroom-wide management systems that create a structured, therapeutic and safe environment for all students and train and supervise classroom staff, as needed.

8. Assist students in building social and self regulatory skills.

9. Address and handle students with behavioral issues.

10. Assist staff in creating visual systems to support behavior plans and instruction for students as necessary.

11. Provide training and support to staff related to the implementation of recommendations, including modeling of recommendations as appropriate.

12. Ensure that all treatment methodologies are evidence-based and reflect the most recent research findings.

13. Develop data collection systems for individuals and classrooms and provide training to staff for implementation of data systems.

14. Graph, monitor and analyze data that are collected and maintain data and all required documentation.

15. Provide consultation with and training to families as outlined in the student’s IEP

16. Complete CPI/nonviolent crisis intervention training upon hire and maintain CPI/nonviolent crisis intervention certification.

17. Demonstrate sound judgments and decisions aligned with school regulations and philosophy and promote a positive school climate that fosters high student expectations and employs appropriate strategies that address multiple learning styles for all students.

18. Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to deal with people in a professional manner in all situations.

19. Able to exercise universal precautions and tolerate management of body fluids, if needed.

20. Able to reach, grasp and handle objects using upper extremities and able to lift and carry objects and/or classroom equipment, up to 45 pounds.

21. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Appropriate MA Teacher’s Certification.

2. Advanced educational preparation in the discipline or area of certification.

3. Experience in the discipline or area of certification.


WORK YEAR: 183 days

WORK HOURS: 7.5 hours per day and additional hours as outlined in the Unit A Contract.

SALARY: Commensurate with experience and degree of education.
