Marketing/Promotions Intern

The Oahe Zap is a Collegiate summer baseball team, playing in the Independence League Baseball. We are looking for someone with experience in marketing and who loves being a part of the sports world! The summer collegiate season is fast paced and filled with many great experiences. In Pierre, South Dakota, summer baseball is one the most anticipated events of the year. We want to continue the growth of love for baseball in our community, and that can continue with you this 2027 season!

Start Date: Approx. May 20 End Date: Approx. August 6

These individuals will perform the following duties:

  • Assist in marketing efforts around the central South Dakota area, including distribution of pocket schedules and attending community and team events
  • Assisting in development and execution of in-game and gameday promotions, including on-field games, giveaways, and theme nights
  • General game day set up
  • Working all Oahe Zap home games
  • Setup and teardown before and after each home game
  • Working non-gameday events at Hyde Stadium and throughout the community
  • Participate in sales training to improve professional resume
  • Participate in weekly meetings to go over marketing strategy and plans of action
  • Assisting other departments when help is needed
  • Other duties as assigned

The candidates we are looking for should meet the following requirements:

  • A graduated high school senior or college student working towards a degree in Sport Management, Marketing, or a related field
  • A drive to work towards being the best at what they do
  • A willingness to learn and take direction
  • A passion for sports, fan experience, or finding creative solutions
  • A positive attitude, even in pressure filled situations

Compensation:

  • $750 stipend for the summer, merchandise/uniform and provided housing
