About the Opportunity

A successful State Farm Agent office in Laguna Beach, California is looking for a motivated, energetic, and sales-driven professional to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships, and helping customers understand their insurance options.

Insurance experience is preferred but not required. If you are motivated, comfortable with sales, and willing to learn, we are happy to provide training to help you become successful in the position.

Current or former State Farm team members with agency experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Your knowledge of State Farm systems, products, quoting, and customer conversations would be highly valued.

Licensing Requirements

Candidates must have or obtain the appropriate insurance licenses required for the position, including:

Property & Casualty Insurance License

Life Insurance License

Candidates who are already licensed and have State Farm or insurance agency experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

As an Insurance Sales Representative, your primary responsibility will be developing new business and helping customers identify insurance solutions appropriate for their needs.

Responsibilities include:

Generate and follow up with new sales leads and prospects.

Quote and sell auto insurance to prospective customers.

Identify opportunities for Homeowners, Renters, Condo, Personal Liability/Umbrella, Life and other appropriate insurance products.

Conduct needs-based conversations to better understand each customer's insurance needs.

Explain coverage options, deductibles, limits and available discounts in a clear and professional manner.

Prepare insurance quotes and follow up consistently with prospects.

Contact leads by phone, text and email.

Schedule sales appointments and follow up on outstanding quotes.

Ask for the business and work toward established sales and production goals.

Build strong relationships with new and existing customers.

Conduct account and household reviews to identify additional insurance needs.

Cross-sell appropriate products to existing customers.

Assist customers with applications and required documentation.

Maintain accurate notes and follow-up activities in agency systems.

Work closely with the Agent and team to achieve office sales and marketing goals.

Provide professional, responsive and friendly customer service.

Participate in agency marketing, referral and lead-generation activities.

Maintain appropriate follow-up with prospects throughout the sales process.

Help develop long-term customer relationships rather than focusing solely on a single transaction.

Previous experience in State Farm, insurance sales, auto insurance, financial services, inside sales, outside sales, customer service, retail sales, or telephone sales is a plus.

State Farm Experience

Are you currently working for a State Farm agent or have you worked in a State Farm agency previously?

Training & Growth

Don't have extensive insurance experience? That does not automatically disqualify you.

For the right candidate who has the required licensing or is working toward the applicable licensing requirements, we are willing to provide training and coaching on our sales process, products, customer conversations, follow-up, and agency procedures.
