what we're looking for

  • Recent graduate (or graduating soon) with a degree in Photography, Film, Media Production, or a related field (or relevant experience even if it isn't school)
  • A strong eye for composition, lighting, and storytelling, able to make simple products look and feel great on camera.
  • Hands-on experience shooting both photo and video, including camera operation, lighting, and audio basics
  • Strong proficiency in video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro (preferred), (or DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for photo editing and retouching

what makes you a great fit
You love making things with a camera and you're just as excited about the planning as the shooting. You like working on a team collaboratively and are willing to be hands on and learn in a bunch of different ways, even when working with different departments.
You are genuinely interested in intentional technology use, and you are curious about what it would mean to live with your phone less. Bonus if you have already spent time on a flip phone or dumbphone.

$20/hr (40 hrs/week) in NYC, with potential for full-time conversion. includes a free dumbphone and monthly plan.

how to apply
send your resume and portfolio or reel to lucy@dumb.co and a short note on why you want to live "dumb". Please include anything you do currently to live a less-tech life. handwritten note preferred.
