Narrative Intern

Proximity Media (SINNERS, IRONHEART, HURRICANE KATRINA: RACE AGAINST TIME, IN PROXIMITY) is a multi-media production company seeking a highly motivated and ambitious intern to support our narrative film & TV departments. This position is ideal for those interested in pursuing careers as producers, writers, and/or executives — you must love reading, have strong analytical writing skills, and a passion for diverse & inclusive storytelling.

However, please note that we only accept applicants who are undergraduate juniors, seniors, and graduate students. We are also extending the application to those who have graduated within the last six months. Applicants not fitting the aforementioned requirement will not be considered. Previous internship experience is preferred but not required. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to script coverage, industry research, watching films, ad-hoc administrative support, special projects related to our slate, and participation in company-wide staff meetings. Interns will have the opportunity to develop an original film/TV pitch to deliver to Proximity executives at the end of the internship, and also meet with industry professionals throughout the semester for wide-ranging insight into the filmmaking and development process. 

This is a paid, part-time, in-person internship in Burbank, CA. Interns will work up to 24 hours per week with the flexibility to choose their schedule with the exception of Mondays, which is a mandatory working day for all interns. If a holiday falls on a working day, interns may make up the hours on an alternate day. The program will tentatively begin on January 11, 2027 and end on May 7, 2027.
