Black Student Cultural Center Student Office Assistant
Must be eligible for Federal Work Study Program!
As a Student Office Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to greet visitors of the Black Student Cultural Center in a friendly manner and provide basic information regarding all BSCC programs and events. You will also assist BSCC staff with promoting events, updating social media, and representing the office at campus events such as New Student Orientation, Admitted Students Day, and other tabling events.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greeting visitors and reminding students to sign-in at the kiosk upon entry.
- Answering questions regarding BSCC functions, programs, and events.
- Representing the office at campus events.
Part-Time:
- Hiring for the following shifts:
- Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays 9:00am-12:00pm. (9hrs/week)
- Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00am-12:00pm. (6hrs/week)
- Mondays and Tuesdays 12:00pm-4:00pm. (8hrs/week)
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student
- Basic social media posting skills.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Ability to create flyers for BSCC events.
- Must be in good academic standing with at least a 2.0 GPA

Student Office Assistants in the Black Student Cultural Center will enhance their communication skills through the daily interactions with visitors of our office. BSCC staff will help to cultivate and build professionalism in our student office assistants. Our student workers will engage in critical thinking by helping staff with creating programming that engages the UWM student body.
