Bcat Threads runs after-school Sew Club programs at schools across San Diego. We're hiring part-time instructors to lead those classes.

The role

You'll follow our prepared curriculum and guide groups of children through hand and machine sewing projects. Each session involves demonstrating techniques, helping kids complete creative projects, and keeping the classroom safe and encouraging. You'll also handle attendance, help set up before class, and pack away machines and supplies afterward.

What you'll do

- Teach sewing techniques (hand and machine) using the Bcat Threads curriculum - Guide children through hands-on creative projects from start to finish - Maintain a positive, safe classroom environment - Take attendance and communicate updates as needed - Set up and break down equipment and supplies each session

About you

- Comfortable using a sewing machine — you don't need to be an expert, just confident and capable,  - Enjoy working with children and can keep them engaged - Clear, patient communicator - Reliable — can commit to a regular weekday afternoon schedule
