Youth Substance Use Counselor

Another Choice, Another Chance (ACAC) is seeking an engaging and flexible Youth Substance Use Counselor to provide prevention, education, early intervention, and treatment services to youth and young adults ages 12–25.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young people and understands that effective youth engagement happens beyond the traditional counseling office. Services may be provided at ACAC, virtually, in schools, and throughout the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group substance use counseling and education.
• Complete screenings, assessments, treatment plans, and required documentation within scope of practice.
• Facilitate youth prevention, psychoeducation, and treatment groups.
• Provide services both virtually and in person.
• Provide services in schools and other community settings.
• Participate in youth outreach and engagement activities.
• Collaborate with schools, families, community partners, and behavioral health providers as appropriate.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
• Participate in supervision, training, and team meetings.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet one or more of the following:

• CADC or qualifying SUD counseling credential/registration;
• AMFT – Associate Marriage and Family Therapist;
• ASW – Associate Clinical Social Worker; or
• Current graduate student in an MSW or MFT program who is eligible to provide services through an approved practicum/internship placement.
