Middle School Afterschool Lead Teacher

E-PLEX is an education complex that provides a variety of academic and enrichment programs. Our Diamond Bar branch offers afterschool, art, music, science, and college counseling programs.

We are currently looking for a Middle School Afterschool Lead Teacher to support and supervise students in our afterschool program.

Job Requirements

Experience working with middle school students: 2+ years preferred

Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills

Bachelor's degree or higher preferred

Ability to assist students with Math and English

Ability to manage a classroom independently

Reliable, responsible, and comfortable communicating with students, parents, and staff

Teaching license or certification is highly preferred, but not required

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supervise middle school students during the afterschool program

Check and correct student homework and workbooks

Provide clear instruction and academic support in Math, English, and other school subjects as needed

Help students develop strong study habits and complete assignments

Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment

Implement effective classroom and behavior management

Establish clear expectations for student behavior and academic performance

Support students' emotional and social well-being

Monitor student academic progress and address concerns when needed

Communicate regularly with the Director and other staff regarding student progress, behavior, and concerns

Communicate with parents/guardians when requested by the Director

Assist with assessments and review student performance when assigned

Submit required student updates or weekly reports through the E-PLEX mobile application

Lead and assist with afterschool activities and transitions

Follow E-PLEX policies and procedures and maintain professional conduct

Pay

$20.00–$25.00 per hour

Pay may vary depending on experience, education, and credentials.

Schedule

Monday through Friday

Typical hours are approximately 2:00 PM–6:00 PM

Availability during afterschool hours is required
