TITLE: HBCI Clinical Supervisor

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 Annually

           The Center for Independence of the Disabled in New York (CIDNY) is the leading organization serving and representing people with disabilities in New York City. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to serve as the Clinical Supervisor for CIDNY’s Home Based Crisis Intervention (HBCI) program. The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader with expertise in trauma-informed care, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD), and child and family mental health, and is passionate about supporting youth and families in crisis.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide weekly individual and group clinical supervision to HBCI Crisis Interventionists, including reflective practice and skills development.
  • Oversee clinical quality and ensure fidelity to the OMH HBCI model, including 6-9 week length of stay and 24/7 availability.
  • Review and approve all assessments, treatment plans, safety plans, and discharge plans.
  • Manage referral intake, triage, and caseload assignment, ensuring family contact within 48 hours.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with NYC DOHMH, OPWDD providers, hospitals, schools, and community partners.
  • Manage the team’s on-call rotation and provide backup support during after-hours crises.
  • Lead utilization review, quality assurance, and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and reporting in OMH’s CAIRS system.
  • Train and mentor staff in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, family systems, and disability-competent practice.
  • Participate in care coordination meetings, IEP meetings, and mandated reporting responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York State (required).
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with children and youth with I/DD and co-occurring mental health needs.
  • Strong knowledge of the NYC behavioral health and OPWDD service systems.
  • Excellent leadership, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Bilingual or multilingual capacity strongly preferred (Spanish, Mandarin, Haitian Creole, ASL, or other languages spoken by Manhattan families).
  • Commitment to disability rights, equity, and serving marginalized communities.

Position Specifics:

 

  • Location: CIDNY's Manhattan Office 1010 Avenue of the Americas, Suite 301, NY, NY 10018, on the corner of Sixth Avenue and 38th Street.
  • Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience
  • Shift: (must be flexible) 9:30 am till 5:30 pm.
  • Monday – Friday.
  • Hybrid Schedule
