Stipend: $150 per month (15 hours per month, $10 per hour equivalent).
About the role
This is a paid social media and content internship supporting two connected brands run by a licensed mental health clinician and educator. You will design and post original content across our social channels, build out existing landing pages on both websites from a blank canvas, and build a monthly content system you can carry into your own portfolio afterward.
Important: this is mental health content
Both brands sit inside the mental health and counseling space. Every post you produce needs to reflect that this is not lifestyle content. Be conscious about the statements you make, avoid casual claims about mental health outcomes, and stay away from language that could be read as clinical advice, diagnosis, or a promise of results.
You will not be writing mental health content from scratch. The founder has already published a body of blogs, course descriptions, book excerpts, and published articles on both websites. Your job is to pull from that existing content, adapting and repackaging the founder's own words into new visual and social formats.
The two brands
My Mental Health University (MyMHU) at mymhuniversity.com. The parent brand. An online continuing education platform for licensed mental health professionals and a public education platform for consumers.
The Premarital Counseling Directory (PCD) at premaritalcounselingdirectory.com. The sister brand. A directory and content site for engaged couples and premarital practitioners.
Weekly deliverables
- 2 original social posts per week in Canva, using existing templates. Copy pulled from existing blogs and course content.
- 1 short-form video (Reel, TikTok, Short) per week. Talking points sourced from existing published content.
- Cross-post to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Threads, and Pinterest.
- 1 LinkedIn post per week drafted for the founder's personal profile, subject to approval.
- Build out 1 website landing page per week. Add content pulled from existing blogs, choose the background, place images, style headers.
- Monthly content calendar across both brands.
- Light analytics on your own content.
What you will not do
- No original clinical or mental health writing.
- No mental health claims, diagnosis language, or outcome promises.
- No paid ad management.
- No client communication.
Aesthetic and voice
Clean, minimalistic, typographically strong. Real whitespace, restrained color, one hero element per composition. AI is welcome as a tool but not as the whole deliverable. AI-heavy submissions will be noticed.
Compensation
- $150 per month stipend
- 15 hours per month expected (about 3 to 4 hours per week)
- $10 per hour equivalent
- Remote, flexible
- 3 month minimum commitment required
- Academic credit eligible where your program allows
- Portfolio rights with attribution
- Reference letter on successful completion
How to apply
Submit through Handshake with your resume, AND complete the required Google Form at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd1Rm9oKJHmmRNqoVYyb3a9SE-VmRplFrZbEruk3M2q6Z0vtQ/viewform
The Google Form is where you submit your three original samples: one social media post you designed, one short-form video you produced, and one piece of writing you wrote yourself. The founder makes the hiring decision primarily based on the design sensibility she sees in those samples. That is the whole test.
