What we look for in a candidate

Successful Summer Analysts will be able to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills. The work is fast paced, intense and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, be adaptable and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits of a successful candidate. Although a background in programming or finance is helpful, JFIN hires interns who have studied a variety of disciplines.

What you can expect – Data Analytics Summer Analyst

The Data Analytics intern will work with members of the data team and will primarily be responsible for (i) assisting with internal monitoring of data quality and data remediation, (ii) supporting data governance and business analysis efforts, and (iii) assisting with data analytics and report automation. Interns are generalists and will have exposure to a comprehensive list of reporting responsibilities critical to the management of a diversified financial institution.

Additional responsibilities may include:

• Identifying, validating, implementing, and monitoring data quality rules for key data used by the business.
• Facilitating the resolution of data quality issues, including identification of root causes.
• Assisting in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and related reporting.
• Assisting in the extraction, transformation, and loading of data in the cloud-based data warehouse.
• Assisting in report automation efforts through development of Power BI reports.
• Assisting Managing Directors and senior staff as needed with various reports and analyses of strategic initiatives.

Eligible applicants graduate between December 2027 and June 2028.

The salary for this role is $70,000 (pro-rated for the 10-week internship program).
