Day to Day

Over the 12-week internship, you will work closely with a mentor to apply computer science practices to real-world engineering challenges. As part of a small team, you will contribute to back-end and front-end development through direct coding, problem-solving, and iterative product building. You will also examine large datasets to inform product development and decision-making, gaining valuable experience in data-driven engineering.

Throughout the internship, you will interact with other interns to enhance learning and foster connections. You'll experience Indeed’s engineering culture, which prioritizes autonomy, responsibility, and fast iteration. Additionally, you may also have the opportunity to contribute to open-source technologies and community projects, further developing your technical skills and industry impact.

Intern Eligibility

• We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program throughout this internship and are slated to graduate in December 2027 or later.
• Students must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship. The student must have work authorization in the United States at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
• This internship will be hybrid, with specific in-office days to be determined later. Relocation is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and testing software solutions under mentor guidance.
• Learn and work with a variety of programming languages and technologies to build small-scale projects.
• Gain experience in building clean, efficient, and well-documented specs and code, both by hand and with AI tools.
• Collaborate with engineers and other interns on coding tasks and debugging challenges.
• Explore data analysis techniques to understand how data influences product decisions.
• Participate in team discussions and brainstorming sessions to learn about software development best practices.
• Develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills by working on real-world technical challenges.
• Take initiative in learning new concepts and tools to enhance technical skills.
• Present project results at the end of internship to communicate results across Indeed software engineering teams.

Skills/Competencies

• Currently enrolled in college pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or similar related field
• Experience with one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Javascript, C, C++.
• Foundational understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in collaborating with a group project (academic or professional)
• Familiarity with Web Development.
• Familiarity with AI Coding Tools.

Salary Range Transparency

Tier 2 - United States of America $36.15 - $45.38 per hour

The salary range for this role reflects the minimum and maximum compensation for the role. Offers are typically made between the range minimum and the range midpoint.
