SMITHTOWN CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICE OF CERTIFIED PERSONNEL Date: September 25, 2026 Posting #: CP3053 ANNOUNCEMENT OF ANTICIPATED VACANCY: Teacher Assistant: Mathematics (Probationary) The successful candidates will collaborate with the building principals and the Director of Mathematics to manage student enrollment in Academic Intervention Services (AIS) programs. Responsibilities may include coordinating comprehensive service schedules for students and AIS providers, administering NYS and local math benchmark assessments, and delivering targeted support through push-in and pull-out instructional models. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: ● NYS Certification in secondary mathematics is required. ● Applicants must be appropriately certified prior to the start of employment DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: ● Two (2) years experience teaching Math and/or AIS Math. ● Knowledge of Google Classroom and instructional technology. ● Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. ● Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others. ● Bilingual communication skills preferred TITLE: Teacher Assistant- Mathematics SALARY: As Per STA Contract LOCATION: HSW EFFECTIVE: 2/1/2027 APPLICATION DEADLINE: 10/8/2026 ● The location of the above noted vacancy is subject to change based on the needs of the district.
