Alterations/Tailor

Role Description: The Part-Time Alterations Specialist is an on-site role based in Manhattan, KS. This team member performs garment alterations and adjustments to ensure suits, dress shirts, formalwear, and other garments achieve a proper fit. Daily tasks include measuring customers, pinning garments, operating sewing machines and other tailoring tools, completing hems and other basic alterations, and inspecting finished work for quality and accuracy. The role also involves communicating with customers about alteration needs, maintaining an organized work area, and managing alterations efficiently to meet customer deadlines. In alterations you will collaborate with colleagues to support fittings and ensure a high-quality in-store experience. Must be able and willing to learn specific alteration tasks.

Qualifications

• Prior sewing experience, with the ability to perform basic garment alterations and adjustments.
• Ability to operate sewing machines and other tailoring tools safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy, quality, and proper garment fit.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new techniques, procedures, and garment types.
• Basic math skills for taking measurements, calculating adjustments, and ensuring accurate alterations.
• Reliable time management, punctuality, and ability to work part-time hours, possibly Saturdays as needed.
• Collaborative mindset and readiness to work as part of a small team in a customer-focused environment.
