Social Media Intern

Social Media & Content Marketing Intern (Part-Time) — Revolution Bees / Buzz Mead

Location: West Chester, PA area (hybrid — some in-person time at the meadery/apiary, flexible remote work for content creation and posting)
Type: Part-time, flexible hours (ideal for a student schedule)
Compensation: Paid, hourly

About Revolution Bees

Revolution Bees is a West Chester-area meadery and honey company — we keep our own bees, make our own honey, and craft it into Buzz Mead, sold through distribution across a multi-county Pennsylvania territory.

The Role

We're looking for a junior or senior (21+ - you'll be handling product - alcohol - for content creation) who wants real ownership over a brand's consumer-facing voice — not just an internship that looks good on a resume, but one where your actual work goes live, gets seen, and moves the needle. You'll lead our content creation and social media presence, with four goals:

  • Grow brand awareness for Revolution Bees and Buzz Mead
  • Educate people about mead — what it is, how it's made, how to enjoy it (most people have never tried it and don't know where to start)
  • Educate people about honeybees — the craft and importance of beekeeping behind everything we make
  • Drive increases in same store sales

You'll have a lot of creative latitude here. We're not looking for someone to execute a rigid content calendar we hand you — we want someone who can bring their own ideas for formats, trends, and storytelling, and run with them.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and manage our social media presence (Instagram/TikTok primarily) — posting cadence, captions, community engagement
  • Create original content: short-form video, photography, graphics, and written posts covering mead education, beekeeping/honey production, behind-the-scenes at the meadery, and product content
  • Develop recurring content series (e.g., mead 101, bee facts, cocktail recipes, "day in the life" beekeeping content)
  • Track what's working (engagement, follower growth) and adjust strategy accordingly
  • Collaborate directly with the owner on brand voice, upcoming products, and campaigns

What We're Looking For

  • Currently a junior or senior (21+) studying marketing, communications, media/film, business, or a related field (or just someone with a strong track record running social accounts)
  • Comfortable creating content yourself — filming, editing short-form video, basic photography/graphic design (Canva, CapCut, or similar)
  • Genuine interest in food/beverage brands, sustainability, agriculture, or small business marketing — you don't need to know anything about mead or bees going in, just curiosity
  • Self-directed — we're a small team, so you'll have real autonomy and need to be comfortable running with projects independently
  • Local to or near West Chester, PA

What You'll Get

  • Real portfolio work: a public-facing brand where your content actually ships — not a simulated project
  • Full creative ownership of a growing consumer brand's marketing, rare for an internship at this level
  • Direct mentorship from the owner on brand strategy, small business operations, and the beverage/CPG industry
  • Flexible, remote-friendly hours that work around a class schedule
  • Paid position, with room to grow scope (and pay) as you take on more
  • A genuinely fun story for interviews: "I built the social presence for a mead company". We will also let you get into our beehives and work directly with the bees if you'd like to.
