POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Superintendent of Career & Technical Education serves as the leader responsible for the strategic direction, daily operations, instructional quality, community partnerships, and continued growth of a comprehensive Career and Technical Education (CTE) program serving all K-12 students in the Archdiocese of Omaha. This position requires balancing educational leadership, workforce development, business partnerships, organizational management, and community engagement to ensure students graduate with relevant skills, credentials, and career pathways. This role requires program building, program design, budget/resource management, and innovative staffing/personnel recruitment.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Strategic Planning
- Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for CTE and its future growth.
- Develop and implement initiatives that expand access to high-quality CTE programming and align with regional workforce needs.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on student outcomes, instructional quality, equity, and career readiness.
- Build organizational systems that support innovation, accountability, and long-term sustainability.
- Provide leadership and advocacy for Catholic aligned initiatives.
- Support living the Catholic faith in the work environment.
Program Development and Workforce Alignment
- Lead the development, expansion, and refinement of career pathways aligned to industry needs and postsecondary needs as well as early exposure elements of CTE.
- Collaborate with business and industry partners to ensure programs reflect current workforce expectations.
- Create opportunities for students to give back to home parishes, or area parishes.
- Establish and maintain industry advisory relationships that support curriculum development, equipment needs, student experiences, and career opportunities.
- Support students in earning industry-recognized credentials, certifications, and work-based learning experiences.
Postsecondary and Community Partnerships
- Develop and maintain partnerships with colleges, universities, apprenticeship programs, and workforce organizations.
- Coordinate partnerships that expand opportunities for students, including dual credit, career exploration, internships, and credential attainment.
- Collaborate with organizations such as postsecondary institutions, healthcare partners, apprenticeship programs, and industry stakeholders to create seamless education-to-career pathways.
Instructional Leadership
- Supervise and support CTE educators in delivering rigorous, relevant, and industry-connected instruction.
- Lead professional learning focused on improving student engagement, literacy, communication skills, critical thinking, and authentic learning experiences.
- Support teachers in integrating academic skills into hands-on technical learning environments.
- Monitor curriculum alignment, instructional practices, student achievement, and program effectiveness.
Personnel Leadership and Organizational Management
- Recruit, hire, supervise, evaluate, and develop certified CTE staff.
- Build a collaborative culture focused on professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage staffing structures, teacher assignments, professional responsibilities, and operational needs.
- Support staff growth through coaching, feedback, and professional development.
Budget and Resource Management
- Oversee program budgets and resource allocation to support instructional priorities and operational needs.
- Advocate for appropriate staffing, equipment, technology, and facility resources.
- Develop relationships that maximize community resources and opportunities for students.
- Participate in planning for long-term program sustainability and growth.
Student Experience and Career Readiness
- Ensure students have access to meaningful career exploration, technical skill development, credentials, internships, and employment opportunities.
- Promote a culture of high expectations, professionalism, and preparation for postsecondary success.
- Collaborate with schools, families, employers, and community organizations to remove barriers and increase student participation.
- Advocate for student growth in their faith as well as in career and college readiness.
Community Representation and External Relations
- Represent the Archdiocese of Omaha in community, business, and educational settings.
- Communicate program vision, outcomes, and needs to diverse stakeholders.
- Develop relationships with religious leaders, employers, civic organizations, foundations, and community leaders.
- Serve as an advocate for career-connected learning and workforce development.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Background in and/or knowledge of the Catholic Church with a demonstrated commitment to the mission and teachings of the Church.
- Master’s degree in Educational Administration required.
- Current Nebraska Teaching Certificate in any one of the Career & Technical Education fields, or ability to obtain by August 2027 required.
- Valid Nebraska Administrator Certificate, or ability to obtain one by August 2027 required.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Routine office environment; ADA-accessible building.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- The Archdiocese of Omaha has 67 schools in 23 counties in Northeast Nebraska. There are schools within a 200-mile radius of the Chancery Office. Overnight travel could be up to 10%; daytime travel could be up to 30%.

Employees of the of the Archdiocese of Omaha will have knowledge of the Catholic faith, a willingness to work for a Catholic, faith-based organization and adhere to the policies of the Archdiocese of Omaha.
