Group Fitness Coach for Older Adults [No experience required]

Group Fitness Coach for Older Adults — No Experience Needed

Part-Time | Monday, Wednesday & Friday | 8:00–11:15 AM | Starting at $17.50/Hour

Do you love helping people feel stronger, more confident, and capable?

Are you patient, encouraging, and the kind of person who genuinely enjoys connecting with older adults?

You do NOT need coaching experience or a fitness certification to apply. We can teach you the fitness side. We're looking for someone with a genuine passion for helping people.

At Fit Body, you'll work with adults 60+ in small-group strength training sessions designed to help them build strength, stamina, stability, balance, and confidence for everyday life.

If you've worked in customer service, hospitality, teaching, healthcare, sports, childcare, or another people-focused role—or you're simply someone who loves encouraging and taking care of others—you may be exactly who we're looking for.

Who We're Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Genuinely enjoy talking with and getting to know people.
  • Are patient, attentive, and encouraging.
  • Love celebrating progress, whether it's lifting a heavier weight or simply moving with more confidence.
  • Can make someone feel comfortable even when they're nervous about exercise.
  • Are dependable, coachable, and eager to learn.
  • Pay attention to the little things and aren't afraid to give someone extra help.
  • Believe getting stronger can improve someone's quality of life.

Never coached before? That's okay.

You don't need to know every exercise. You don't need years of gym experience. And you definitely don't need to be a fitness model.

We'll teach you how to coach.

What matters most to us is that you care about people, you're willing to learn, and you want to help our members succeed.

We'll Train You

Every new coach goes through our 12-week paid coach training program.

You'll shadow experienced coaches, learn our workouts and coaching system, practice working with members, and gradually build the confidence to lead sessions yourself.

Because you'll be working with adults 60+, we'll spend extra time teaching you how to:

  • Safely coach strength exercises and proper form.
  • Modify movements for different fitness and mobility levels.
  • Coach balance, stability, strength, and functional movement.
  • Recognize when someone needs a regression or progression.
  • Communicate clearly and patiently.
  • Build confidence in members who may be nervous about exercise.
  • Create a fun, supportive environment where everyone feels successful.

You won't be expected to walk in on Day 1 knowing how to do all of this.

We'll teach you.

What You'll Do

As a Fit Body Forever Coach, you'll:

  • Coach small-group strength training sessions for adults 60+.
  • Demonstrate exercises and help members with proper technique.
  • Provide modifications based on each person's abilities.
  • Encourage members to safely challenge themselves and get stronger.
  • Learn members' names, goals, limitations, and accomplishments.
  • Celebrate progress—from improved balance and confidence to lifting heavier weights.
  • Help create an environment where members feel comfortable, supported, and excited to come back.
  • Help keep our gym clean, organized, and welcoming.

This isn't about standing in front of the room and counting reps.

It's about helping people stay strong enough to keep doing the things they love.

That might mean having the strength to carry groceries, getting up and down from the floor, traveling, playing with grandkids, or simply feeling more confident moving through everyday life.

Bonus, but not required:

  • Experience working with adults 60+
  • Personal training or group fitness experience
  • NASM, ACE, or another fitness certification
  • CPR/AED certification
  • Teaching, healthcare, hospitality, customer-service, or other people-focused experience

If you don't have CPR/AED certification yet, we can help you get it.

Schedule

This position has a consistent morning schedule:

Monday: 8:00 AM–11:15 AM
Wednesday: 8:00 AM–11:15 AM
Friday: 8:00 AM–11:15 AM

We're looking for someone who can reliably commit to these three mornings each week.

Consistency matters because our members build relationships with their coaches and look forward to seeing the same familiar faces each week.

Why You'll Love Working Here

Fit Body isn't just a workout program. It's a community.

Our members come to us because they want to stay strong, active, independent, and confident as they get older.

You'll get to know them, hear about their families and lives, celebrate their milestones, and watch them accomplish things they didn't think they could do.

You'll also get:

  • A free gym membership
  • Ongoing coach education and development
  • Hands-on training and mentorship
  • Opportunities to grow as a coach
  • A supportive, close-knit team
  • A job where you can see the difference you're making in people's lives

Compensation

Starting at $17.50/hour

Location

Lakeline Fit Body Boot Camp / Fit Body Forever

This is a fully in-person position. A reliable commute is required.

Think You'd Be Great With People But Aren't Sure You're "Fitness Coach Material"?

Apply anyway.

We're much more interested in your attitude, patience, reliability, ability to connect with people, and willingness to learn than how much fitness experience you already have.

If you'd love a job where you can help adults 60+ get stronger, move better, stay independent, and feel more confident, we'd love to meet you.
