Brooksource's banking client is looking to hire Junior Business Systems Analysts as part of our January 2027 career development cohort. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is interested in the intersection of business and technology and wants to build experience supporting enterprise systems and technology initiatives.
You’ll work alongside business partners, developers, and other technology professionals to understand business needs, document requirements, support testing, and help teams deliver effective technology solutions. You’ll also receive ongoing technical and professional development throughout the program. We are proactively recruiting for multiple anticipated openings for the January 2027 cohort.
What You’ll Do:
- Partner with business and technology teams to understand business needs and translate them into clear requirements and user stories
- Help break down features and gather, analyze, document, and validate business and system requirements
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical/development teams
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and team meetings, including daily stand-ups, status meetings, planning sessions, and deliverable reviews
- Facilitate meetings and discussions as needed to gather information, clarify requirements, and support project progress
- Create and maintain documentation related to business processes, system requirements, procedures, and application changes
- Develop process flows and help identify opportunities to improve business or system processes
- Support testing activities, including validating requirements and assisting with the identification and triage of defects
- Work with team members and business partners to research questions, troubleshoot issues, and identify solutions
- Support production releases and implementation activities as needed
- Help establish project timelines and complete assigned activities and documentation in a changing environment
- Provide ongoing support for assigned business units, systems, or applications
- Continue building business analysis, technical, and professional skills through structured training and development
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related field required by January 2027
- Experience with business analysis, data analysis, requirements gathering, or process improvement through coursework, projects, internships, or professional experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with both business and technical audiences
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to document requirements, processes, or technical information in a clear and organized way
- Strong business and technology aptitude with an interest in understanding how systems support business needs
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Curious, motivated, and eager to grow within a business and technology-focused career
Preferred Backgrounds:
- Candidates graduating in December 2026 or earlier who are available to begin working in January 2027
- Candidates with internships, coursework, or projects involving business analysis, systems analysis, data analysis, technology, or process improvement
- Experience creating process maps, workflows, requirements, or user stories
- Exposure to SQL, databases, or data analysis is a plus
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum environments is a plus
- Experience working with technical teams, business stakeholders, or cross-functional project teams is a plus
