Job Description:

Corca is building a collaborative workspace for students to study together, share notes, prepare for exams, ask questions, and keep useful course resources in one place.

We’re looking for current college students to become Course Captains for the classes they’re already taking.

Think of a Course Captain as the person who would normally create the class Discord, GroupMe, or study group — except you’ll help build that community directly on Corca.

As a Course Captain, you’ll help bring your classmates into the Corca course community, share useful academic resources, and help make the class space active throughout the semester.

What you’ll do

  • Select one or more classes you’re currently taking
  • Share your personal Corca course link with classmates through approved class channels
  • Help bring classmates into the corresponding Corca course community
  • Publish useful lecture notes, study guides, exam-prep resources, or other original course materials
  • Encourage classmates to ask questions, share resources, and study together
  • Help organize study sessions or exam-prep activity when useful
  • Provide feedback to the Corca team on the student experience

You’ll have flexibility in how you grow your course community. Common channels may include class GroupMe or Discord, study groups, student organizations, or professor/TA-approved Canvas or Blackboard communication.

Compensation

This is a paid, performance-based student ambassador opportunity. It is not a salaried or hourly position.

Current U.S. Course Captain rewards include:

  • $30 after 15 qualified students join your Corca course community
  • $2 for every additional qualified student
  • $2 for each approved initial set of class notes or study guide published to your course
  • Additional rewards through Course Captain bounties and growth milestones

A qualified referral generally means a new Corca user who joins through your referral, verifies their school identity where required, and joins the appropriate course.

  • run a class GroupMe or Discord
  • tutor or help classmates
  • participate in student organizations
  • hold leadership roles on campus
  • enjoy bringing people together

You do not need a large social media following.

We care much more about whether you can build a useful community within your actual classes.
