Tweneboah Fellow | Spring 2027 - Research & Editorial

About the Fellowship

The Elizabeth Tweneboah Foundation is now accepting applications for our Spring 2027 cohort of Tweneboah Fellows through our Men’s Rea™ Experiential Fellowship.

Men’s Rea™ is a public intellectual initiative that explores the overlap between men, masculinity, law, relationships, the family unit, social psychology, and the institutions shaping modern life. We begin with a central inquiry: What are we getting wrong about men? From here, our work considers how contemporary notions of power, autonomy, and gender roles have influenced everyday intimate life and the well-being of future generations.

Our fellowship offers students the opportunity to embark on this work while still in its early stages of development. Fellows will work directly with our Founder by participating in a weekly 75-minute experiential seminar and helping to develop scholarship and public-facing work. The experiential seminar is intended to be a serious working space where fellows will engage existing scholarship, encounter arguments in development, and be encouraged to challenge the work rather than simply assist with it. Each Fellow will complete a substantive portfolio over the course of the semester.

Core Responsibilities

  • Research Development & Editorial Practice: Work from seminar discussions, lecture transcripts, research notes, and developing arguments to practice translating complex intellectual material into organized written form. Fellows may assist with draft sections, outlines, research memoranda, and editorial development while learning how long-form scholarship moves from conversation and research toward publication.

  • Research & Source Evaluation: Conduct targeted interdisciplinary research related to developing Men’s Rea™ questions and distinguish empirical evidence from theoretical, historical, literary, ideological, or other forms of argument.

  • Editorial Analysis: Review developing material for conceptual gaps, competing explanations, factual questions, and areas requiring additional research or clarification.

Who Should Apply

We welcome graduate and exceptional advanced undergraduate students who are intellectually curious and comfortable engaging difficult questions. Strong research, writing, analytical judgment, and intellectual curiosity are essential. Men’s Rea™ is intentionally interdisciplinary and invites applicants with backgrounds in law, the humanities, social sciences, psychology, education, public policy, media, business, and other related fields.

  • Term: Spring 2027

  • Compensation: Unpaid; academic credit may be available, subject to approval by the Fellow’s home institution

  • Apply: You may apply in Handshake or send a résumé to careers@etfny.org with “Research & Editorial Fellow — Spring 2027” in the subject line.

  • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

* Note: Fellowship work will be conducted primarily remotely. Preference may be given to candidates based in or within commuting distance of the New York City metropolitan area, as occasional opportunities for in-person seminars, meetings, and public programming may arise during the semester.
