Graduate Student Survivor Advisory Board Lead

Graduate Student Position: Survivor Advisory Board Lead

Start Term: Fall 2026

Reporting to the Intake and Operations Advocate of the PATH to Care Center, the Survivor Advisory Board Lead will be instrumental in supporting the center's administrative, business, and operational functions. This position will provide project management for developing a new initiative of a survivor advisory board for the Center, and will also support operational and administrative needs for the Center. This role requires a high degree of confidentiality, attention to detail, and a passion for social justice. The position will not provide confidential advocacy or direct service program development. This role requires a minimum of 6-12 hours a week throughout the Academic Year (winter, spring, and summer breaks are not required but hours are available). 


 

The Survivor Advisory Board Lead Admin will provide project management and administrative support for the PATH to Care center through:

  • Leading a small workgroup of student employees
  • Researching best practices in establishing and maintaining a Survivor Advisory Board, ensuring trauma informed and survivor centered approaches
  • Developing recommendations for recruitment, management, and scope of a Survivor Advisory Board 
  • Reviewing previous Student Advisory Board practices and lessons learned
  • Collaborating with professional staff in developing an implementation plan



 

Additional Administrative Responsibilities of this role include: 

  • Manage the PATH to Care Center’s central email account 
  • Work in partnership and collaboration with staff members to maintain services, office procedures, and general office management 
  • Manage department calendar and coordinate scheduling of special meetings and events, including recruitments, onboarding, committee, and department meetings 
  • Maintain office supply inventory and purchase office/program supplies 
  • Assist with financial reconciliations, including backup documentation and knowledge of chart of accounts 
  • Submit reimbursements, travel requests, purchasing requests, event space, food requests, and other operational needs 
  • Provide day-of support to PATH to Care Center tabling, programs, and events 
  • General administrative assistance for professional staff 
  • Follow data entry processes (Qualtrics, Smartsheets, Google Forms)


 

REQUIREMENTS: 

Applicants for the position of Survivor Advisory Board Lead Admin must be current UC Berkeley graduate student and they commit to at least two semesters in the role. 

This position will utilize the following devices: computer, headphones, microphone, webcam, Zoom, a Berkeley email, and Bcal.

Fall 2026: Mandatory 6-12 hours of availability per week. Most weeks, you will be expected to work 8-10 hours. Most weeks require around 6-12 hours of work. Having 6-12 hours of availability also helps find convenient meeting times for all the teams, scheduling programs, and consultations. 

Attending weekly meetings (Time TBD): Meetings are opportunities for the Operations team to explore the work we've been doing and are preparing to do, cheer one another on, and keep improving skills. Exceptions will only be made for time conflicts that arise from an academic requirement. 

Completing paid training on topics on prevention and advocacy for sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, and sexual harassment

Pay: Graduate Student staff are hired as employees of UC Berkeley, and added to the PATH to Care Center personnel list, and the pay rate for the Graduate Student Administrative Assistant Position is $25/hour

TIMELINE:

2. Interviews will be held via Zoom in early to mid October depending on when an application is received. Details will be sent to you after your application is reviewed. 

3. Notification of PTC student staff appointments will be sent by October 26, 2026


 

All applicants must verify their studies and commitment to the remainder of Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters at UC Berkeley, and commit to working between 6-12 hours/week, with possible renewal pending funding, PTC approval, and performance review. Applicants must complete and pass a student conduct check, and complete all hiring processes and training.
