Food Product Development Intern

Your next experiment could become someone’s favorite dessert.

Sweet Carocas is a Miami dessert startup looking for a curious student or recent graduate to help create our next generation of products. You’ll work directly with our chef and leadership, combining food science, AI, and hands-on kitchen experiments to develop desserts people want to order again.

What you’ll do

* Create new recipes: Develop sugar-free, no-sugar-added, dairy-free, plant-based, and gluten-free dessert concepts, with flavor and texture leading every decision.
* Put AI to work: Research ingredients, explore substitutions, and design experiments. Check findings against reliable sources and test ideas in the kitchen.
* Run real trials: Mix, bake, chill, freeze, taste, measure, and refine.
* Make good recipes better: Improve consistency, ingredient costs, and performance through refrigeration and freezing.
* Build repeatable formulas: Document ingredient percentages, methods, yields, costs, and results to support commercial production.

Who we’re looking for

Students or recent graduates in Food Science, Food Engineering, Nutrition, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Culinary Arts, Baking/Pastry, or related fields.

Bring curiosity, attention to detail, basic spreadsheet skills, and an interest in using AI for food innovation. Class projects, laboratory work, and your own recipe experiments count. Previous professional R&D experience is welcome but not required.

Why join us

Get direct mentorship, meaningful responsibility, and experience taking an idea from the first test batch toward a commercial product. Help shape a startup’s product lineup, with potential for an expanded role based on performance and company growth.

Our mission, “A Taste for You, A Meal for Them,” connects our growth to hunger relief.
